A man whose career soared to great heights with his distinctive performance in Indian fashion industry. The man who is every Indian bride’s favorite. “Sabyasachi Mukherjee”. He, who doesn’t consider himself a fashion designer but a businessman. I’m a big fan of his work and his story, indeed, is inspirational.

Some research I did…

On him

He comes from a middle-class Bengali family of Kolkata who followed his instincts and paved a path for himself to accomplish his dreams. By selling his old books, this guy accumulated money to pursue his studies from NIFT as his parents didn’t agree to get him admission there. After his graduation, he just went on working hard and came to a point where he can be proud of himself, and so are we, for his work.

On his work

The cultural traditions of his homeland have been his lifelong inspiration. His design ideology is “personalized imperfection of the human hand”. His unique ability to blend the colors is one of the reasons he’s getting so much praise. He believes to work on the Indian textiles and all his items are handcrafted. Traditional textiles, block prints, weaves, and embroidery are a constant in his collections. He has not only worked for the Indian brides but also for Bollywood and Hollywood.

Western Outfits

His work is nothing but the concoction of our culture and the westerns’ and that’s really intriguing. “He believes that the history of our Indian culture has some exotic flavors to offer to the west. His collection represents his statement completely as “an International styling with an Indian soul”.

Jewellery and some other accessories

His heritage jewellery collection is as exquisite as his apparels collection. The kind of “detailing” he does in every piece is pleasantly mystifying. No doubt why Indian women are crazy to get married in “Sabyasachi”.

His clientele…..

 And his beautiful brides!!!!

I’ve always cherished his uniqueness. His every design is a masterpiece. The way he plays with the colors, leave me speechless. In many of his creations, he uses floral concept and I’m someone who adores that. If you’re attached to your soul, you would surely be able to understand his creativity.

“Style actually means being 5’1 and being able to carry off flats with panache to a party”.
