Project Runway Season 11 Winner Michelle Lesniak’s Emotive fashion
Fashion with a purpose! Did you ever think fashion that way? From emotion to fashion is the motto of Michelle Lesniak – What a wonderful designer she is! Not because of the title she belongs to but how she pursue that title to stay as real to her soul as she possibly can.
I have a question for you! Have you ever got so serious about what you’re wearing? In a subtle way, you always have! Did you ever just put on anything that comes in front of your eyes before you leave your house? Or you have something in your mind that pushes you to come out with an outfit that’s very symmetric with your emotions. Am I sounding relatable now?
There are so many people and so many things around to learn from. You don’t always have to be money-minded. Doing things from the heart is a thing and it takes you way ahead than you can ever imagine. Coming from Portland, Michelle Lesniak have realized that already. But I wanted to talk about this designer because her designs are not only unique but they aim to express emotions. Her designs are the manifestation of her emotions. Being expressive is all that is and it seems her ultimate goal. Though she charges a huge penny so not an ordinary human being can afford that but taking inspiration from a woman who uses her imagination to bring eternity to just a little piece of material clothing and how she makes them immortal, can be of help in any aspect of your life.
Fashion, as we all know consciously or unconsciously, is constantly changing. Have you ever had a piece you dumped because it is really worn-out? I don’t think so because I never did! Perhaps when I was a child, but now if you ask me, it has to be dumped after few years of being a representation of my closet, just like a crumpled paper in a handbag. It’s true with you all too, isn’t it? And that’s why I really wanted to mention about this designer. A woman who believed in emotive fashion and made it a reality. She wants to make sure that you don’t dump it, and the more you’re stuck with it, the less you’re gonna waste your money on (which is basically my theory to live your life by)! She adds emotions to her creations. A lady who even used her divorce, one of the greatest setbacks of her life, in order to create something new. She literally transformed her low moments into your high ones by turning her divorce to her new collection “Decay“. That’s what we all should be doing, right? Not obviously turning our divorces into something but hey, why not? Or, perhaps, turning our failures into somebody else’s successes. This is what God would like us doing. Lifting people up even when we are not doing so well.
Her philosophy made her win the Project Runway Season 11 which is a reality TV series that focuses on fashion design. Her fascinating ideas appealed to me and being a fashion talker I really wanted to spread the word. Check out her collection which I personally found dramatic and very expressive. I’m inspired by her ideas and in some ways, she has definitely lifted me up! She uses customized music for her runways which is equally dramatic and is composed, keeping her collection in mind. Decay, Weather Worn, and Little Girl Lost are the best ones among all, along with the Project Runway Season 11 collection that made her stand out and win the heart of the judges.
I must say, some people’s work is worth discussing! Check out my another favorite designer Sabyasachi’s collection here.
